The Salvation Army is a Protestant Christian church and an international charitable organisation with worldwide membership of over 1.7 million, consisting of soldiers, officers and adherents.
In 2014, Redcentric won a contract with The Salvation Army to provide a full Wide Area Network (WAN), delivering network services to over 1,000 locations from which the charity delivers its mission. The initiative has enabled the charity’s staff to connect to a MPLS network providing not only secure access to internal services, but also providing services for the community using a variety of corporate systems and safe internet access.
Martyn Croft, CIO of The Salvation Army UK and Republic of Ireland Territory sees the importance of the network in helping to serve The Salvation Army mission, and recently commented on the “importance of this initiative in creating a ‘connected army’ able to help the people it serves.”.
